 Recruitment of Technical Officer

Hong Kong News-Expo Limited is inviting candidates to the post of Technical Officer.   We are a non-profit organization established for the revitalization of the Bridges Street Market in Central, a Grade 3 historic building, as the Hong Kong News-Expo, Asia’s first exhibition-cum-education facility themed on news.

We are looking for candidates who have the passion to join our dynamic team to materialize the project.

Position: Technical Officer (Ref: M/TO/1/2015)

Responsibilities: 

-              To assist the Chief Executive Officer to manage the project and revitalise and renovate the Bridges Street

                Market into the Hong Kong News-Expo;

-              To provide technical support and input in exhibition design, fabrication and installation;

-              To liaise with government departments and their agents, including but not limited to architects, engineers,

               quantity  surveyors, contractors, designers and any other relevant parties for the delivery of the project;

-              To coordinate and manage contractors on-site, supervise exhibition fabrication and installations;

-              To provide technical support to the Chief Executive Officer in the operation of the Hong Kong News-Expo

                and the maintenance of the exhibitions as well as the building, including its facilities;

-              To assist in the design, management, updating and maintenance of the websites and social media related

                to the Hong Kong News Expo;

-              To assist in the design and production of educational, promotional and any other printed matters;

-              To design and fabricate thematic exhibitions on a need basis;

-              To assist in monitoring the service contracts related to photo development and exhibition production; and

-              To perform any other duties assigned by the senior management. 

Requirements: 

-      Holder of degree or diploma with training in Graphic or Computer design / Museum design / Visual

        communication design or related discipline;

-      Possess at least 15 years working experience in museums / galleries / exhibition fabrication;

       previous working experience in government or NGO will be an advantage;

-      Possess the ability and experience to work with / monitor consultants and contractors;

-      Creative, self-motivated and good at team work and team building;

-      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

-        Fluent in written Chinese and English, and spoken Cantonese, Putonghua and English.
